FREE AGE-IN-PLACE HOME ASSESSMENTS
Aging in place refers to older adults' desire and ability to remain in their own homes and communities as they age, rather than moving in with family or to an assisted living facility. Our Senior Home Safety Specialists, certified by Age Safe America, are trained to help you and your loved ones avoid falls and other injuries by identifying practical home modifications. Our assessments are free and typically take 1 hour to complete. We also offer home accessibility upgrades and modifications to homeowners of all ages.
HOME CARE AND REPAIR SERVICES
We are able to help make your home the best it can be. From small modifications to large upgrades, we are here to help make your home dreams come true. Our services range from general carpentry, fixture installations, faucet replacement, painting, pressure washing, and just about anything else that comes to mind when you think of what a skilled handyman can help you accomplish.

Birmingham Home Care & Repair was founded with a simple mission: to make homeownership easier, safer, and more comfortable—especially for those who want to age in place. Too often, home maintenance and repair feels confusing, costly, and overwhelming. We set out to change that by offering dependable, compassionate solutions tailored to each homeowner’s needs.
Our founder, Dan Roberts, is a proud UAB Alum and Certified Senior Home Safety Specialist with nearly 20 years of experience in housing operations at colleges and universities. Before starting Birmingham Home Care & Repair, Dan served as the last Dean of Students at Birmingham-Southern College, where he developed a deep appreciation for creating safe, supportive, and accessible living environments. Today, he brings that same dedication to helping individuals and families maintain homes that foster independence, safety, and peace of mind. Dan calls Southside Birmingham home, where he lives with his wife, Angela, and their three dogs, Barley, Greta, and Gilda.
